“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”  -Luke 2:52

LEARN. LOVE. SERVE

For 50 years Wayside Christian School has been able to provide a community of learning for both the academic and spiritual development of each young person.
We invite you to come and experience Wayside for yourself.

About Us

Wayside Christian School is situated in Bucyrus, Ohio and has been serving families since 1973 by offering a high-quality, faith-based education. Our school has been a source of enrichment for hundreds of families and our students have come from over 35 local churches, including Wayside Chapel, our home church.

At Wayside, we strive to help every student reach their full potential. Our small class sizes, disciplined environment, and dedicated faculty contribute to our students’ success. Our teachers view their role as a ministry, where they can serve the Lord and demonstrate the joy and fulfillment that comes from living a life in Christ.

Core Values

At WCS, we are committed to providing our students with high-quality academics that stimulate learning and push them to think critically. We strive to ensure that our students have meaningful experiences that provide them with the skills and knowledge to be successful in the future.

Our academic curriculum is founded upon the principles and values of Scripture, recognizing it as the ultimate source of truth. We use the teachings and doctrines of Scripture to help form our students’ values, beliefs, and understanding of the world.

We strongly encourage all our students to reach their fullest potential by exposing themselves to a wide range of disciplines, including speech, drama, music, technology, and athletics. Doing so will enable them to develop diverse skills and enrich their learning experience.

We aim to identify and cultivate each student’s unique gifts, allowing them to flourish and fulfill the plan that God has for their lives.

At Wayside Christian School, the entire faculty and staff is unwavering in their commitment to serving each student with a heart of humility and compassion, recognizing that each one is a precious creation of God.

We desire for every student to pursue a genuine and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ, and then to live a life wholly dedicated to serving Him and loving others.

Last Friday, the 4th graders gave it their all, making a bold attempt to claim a second ice cream party victory. But the 2nd graders weren’t about to let it slip away—they held their ground and secured the prize for week two! With two more weeks left in our Coin War, the battle is far from over, and the stakes are climbing. Not only are more ice cream parties up for grabs, but the ultimate prize—a pizza party—awaits the class with the most points at the end of the competition. Right now, the 4th grade holds the top spot, but with two weeks to go, the leaderboard could shift in a big way. Keep those coins coming, and may the best class win! 🍕🍦💪 See MoreSee Less

It was another thrilling day in our standings, with more shakeups keeping everyone on their toes! The K4 class tumbled down again this week as the other classes filled their buckets with silver coins. But this time, their fall wasn’t as steep—they’re still in the running to snatch the lead with a strong push tomorrow!

Kindergarten surged forward today, jumping comfortably into first place as we head into the final day. And watch out for 4th grade! They’re creeping up the standings, eyeing a two-week winning streak with just one more day to make it happen.

While our elementary classes jostle for the top spot, Jr./Sr. High has been holding steady at the bottom. Are they plotting a big comeback for the final showdown tomorrow? Only time will tell!

Stay tuned for the final results at the end of the day tomorrow to find out who’ll be crowned this week’s champion and win the coveted Week 2 ice cream party!

Woo-hoo! Go K4! Nice comeback!!

The first week of our Coin Wars was a blast! Classes went all-in, tossing in pennies, silver coins, and even some big bills to launch their team to the top. After a wild Friday afternoon of counting up some seriously full buckets (shoutout to those awesome grandparents!), we’re thrilled to announce our first week’s winner!

It was a nail-biter all week, with every class battling hard and even pulling out some big moves on Friday. Most classes were in the negative until the final day, but the 4th Grade class stormed ahead with a huge finish and claimed the Week 1 victory! They’re set to enjoy an ice cream party later this week!

Together, we raised just over $2,500 for our building expansion project—amazing work, everyone! And remember, we still have several weeks to boost that total, with plenty of chances for other classes to win an ice cream party… or maybe 4th grade will snag a second one! And, of course, don’t forget the ultimate prize: a pizza party for the top class at the end of it all!

Get ready for more updates and don’t miss our first Week 2 standings tomorrow afternoon. Let’s keep the excitement going!
